Our traditional building near Bromsgrove dates back to the 1740’s and has been stylishly renovated, combining original features with modern essentials. Inside The Vernon at Hanbury you will find a large bar area with high stools and tables as well as comfy chairs to drink and catch up with friends. Our restaurant features a theatre kitchen and is famous for our unique private dining area, which must be seen to be believed!

Our History

The Vernon is proud to be the birthplace of The Archers. Godfrey Baseley the original creator and editor for 22 years often drank in the bar and it is widely believed that many of his characters were based on local Hanbury villagers. Here is a photo taken in 1950 of the cast and Producer of the Archers in the green room of the restaurant at The Vernon.
